Assistant General Manager

The Assistant General Manager, along with the General Manager, oversees the daily FOH operations, andmaintainsrevenue, profitability, brand identity, and quality goals. The Assistant General Manager andthe General Manager will work in partnership to ensure a successful and efficient restaurant operation.The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining abeverage program, including training, inventorymanagement, and ordering. Additionally, the Assistant General Manager must understand the OxfordCommonsvoice and maintain the appropriate ambiance.The Assistant General Manager is thestandard bearer forservice in all food and beverage operations. The Assistant General Manager operatesas the right hand of the General Manager and takes on the senior leadership role for FOH operations anytime the General Manager is not present.

Essential Functions:

-Demonstrate Oxford Commonscore values:be humble, do whatever it takes, stay curious, andcreate connections.

-Establish genuine member connection, demonstrate recognition of VIPs, regular guests, andbuild relationships with new members.

-Ensure prompt and exemplary service

-Recruit, interview, hire and train employees.

-Provide timely performance reviews.

-Provide coaching and progressive discipline.

-Analyze sales reports.

-Monitor FOH operations.

-Maintain positive relationships with vendors and purveyors.

-Manage inventory and costs along with General Manager.

-Project future costs under guidance of the General Manager:liquor, packaging, small wares,equipment and maintenance.

-Schedule service staff.

-Maintain cleanliness and organization of FOH.

-Follow health department sanitation standards.

-Mentor and coach both FOH management staff and service team.

-Establish positive relationships with the BOH team.

-Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

-3+ yearsexperience in similar positions with progressive advancement

-Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills

-Knowledge of restaurant standards and trends

-Effective time management

-Level 1 or higher Sommelier (preferred but not mandatory)

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Musthave or be able to obtain food safety and responsible alcohol service certifications.

-Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, events/catering software, timekeeping andscheduling software and POS systems.

General Physical Demands for the Position:

-Ability to balance and carry trays, multiple plates, glass racks and glasses.

-Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks including constant reaching, bending,stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time.

-Musthave the ability to lift, push, pull approximately 50 lbs.

-Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours during a single shift, while possiblynavigating ramps, stairs, and elevators.

-Managers will also view a computer monitor and type/write on a regular basis.
