Acts as a key member of the Information Services Quality Assurance team with primary responsibility for validating Oracle Retail Point of Sale (POS) applications. The role oversees test planning, test case development, execution, risk assessment, defect management, and resolution while primarily performing manual testing with exposure to automation. Works cross-functionally with business analysts, developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to validate retail business processes, POS integrations, and customer-facing functionality. Delivers high-quality solutions that support J.Jill associates and customers.


  • Develop, document, and execute functional, integration, regression, smoke, and user acceptance test cases.
  • Validate Oracle Retail POS workflows including sales, returns, exchanges, promotions, loyalty, gift cards, inventory lookup, and payment processing.
  • Perform end-to-end testing across POS, merchandising, ecommerce, inventory, and customer engagement systems.
  • Create and maintain regression test suites and participate in release validation activities.
  • Document defects with detailed reproduction steps using Jira and Zephyr and collaborate with development teams through resolution.
  • Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Follow QA standards and maintain documentation supporting PCI and SOX compliance.
  • Coordinate testing with business users and assist with UAT.
  • Support production issue triage and verification of hotfixes.
  • Recommend improvements to QA processes, testing methodologies, and operational efficiencies.
  • This is a hybrid position requiring onsite testing (4 days) for store hardware and retail operational validation.

  • Hands-on experience testing Oracle Retail POS or comparable retail POS platforms.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Retail Xstore POS, Oracle Customer Engagement (CE), or related Oracle Retail applications is strongly preferred.
  • Experience testing POS peripherals including barcode scanners, receipt printers, payment terminals, cash drawers, and pin pads.
  • Knowledge of retail business processes including promotions, returns, exchanges, inventory, and loyalty.
  • Experience creating detailed test plans, test cases, and test evidence.
  • Experience with Jira, Zephyr, Confluence, SQL, REST APIs, and Postman is preferred.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum QA methodologies.
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, xUnit, or NUnit is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years of software quality assurance experience.
  • 3+ years of retail POS testing experience.
  • Experience with Oracle Retail POS applications strongly preferred.
  • Retail industry experience required; ecommerce experience highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting multiple store locations, production support, and software releases.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of QA best practices and SDLC.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work, prolonged periods of time working at a desk and on a computer.  
  • Ability to communicate information and observe details at close range.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required
