Job Description

Under limited supervision, performs technical and administrative work in supporting and maintaining the Point of Sales (POS) systems and related devices for our Clients. Work involves maintenance and support of all computers (servers, desktops, cash registers and laptops), databases, networked and standalone printers, label printers, scanning equipment and all other IT equipment. 
Essential Job Duties
Supports and maintains POS system computers (servers, desktops, cash registers, laptops and tablets).
Supports and maintains POS related devices, like POS printers, scanners and credit card readers.
Supports and maintains cell phones and smart phones.
Supports and maintains all PBX telephone equipment and handsets.
Supports and maintains all scanning equipment, including handheld scanners and wireless access points.
Supports, trains, sets up, and troubleshoots users company-wide.
Prepares various reports; performs special projects.
Operates a variety of equipment such as copier, scanner, fax machine, video conferencing, telephone equipment, smartphones, power vault, computer, etc.
Uses a variety of computer software such as Backup Exec, Trend Micro, Office 365, Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Server OS, etc.
Interacts and communicates with various clients and individuals throughout the company.
Performs the installation and configuration of copier, print, and scan functions.
Prepares documentation of all adds, moves, and changes throughout the network.
Performs general administrative/office duties as required, including preparing reports and correspondence, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents, sending and receiving faxes, answering the telephone, etc.
Performs related duties as required.
Scope of Responsibility
This job will have periodic access to confidential data including financial statements, company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, and company plans, designs, and/or programs.
This job works under only general instructions, and is expected to determine how to accomplish the work assignment with limited supervision.

Qualifications

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read and understand English.


Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, system hardware and software, and computer server systems. Windows 2000/2003/2008/2013 server, Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Windows 7/8, TCP/IP, SQL, VMware, scanning software and hardware, and label printing hardware and software.

Education and Experience
Requires at least two years of college work, preferably in the field of Information Technology.
2 years of experience in the Information Technology field a plus, but not necessary.
At least 1-year experience in the maintenance and support of Point-of-Sales (POS) systems, both hardware and software. Experience in Micros systems is preferred, but experience in any POS software is acceptable.


Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

Work Environment
Work is performed from the employees home and various Client sites..
Travel Required
The employee will be required to travel up to 90% of the time.
