Job description

Are you looking for a rewarding opportunity working with the pediatric population (children birth to 3 years)? Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of families? Thom Child & Family Services located in Worcester, MA is seeking a as needed basis Fee for Service Portuguese Interpreter to join their team during the program hours of Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.

As an Early Intervention Portuguese Interpreter, you will be responsible for assisting Early Intervention Specialists by providing written and verbal interpretation services.

Thom Child & Family Services offers:

  • Mileage reimbursement between visits
  • Company issued cellphone

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpreting services for Early Intervention Specialists and families during community-based visits, center-based visits, group meetings and remote when necessary.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team approach to service provision.
  • Maintain compliance with all Thom Child & Family Services policies and procedures/DPH regulations and requirements.
  • Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate must be fluent in Portuguese/English.
  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual in Portuguese/English required.
  • Ability to interpret written materials in the pursuit of service delivery (via text or email).
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to meet the required competency level in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
