Job description

DELICIOUS FOOD THAT IMPROVES LIVES

At Fermented Food Holdings (FFH), we’re passionate about harnessing the transformative power of food to enhance lives through high-quality, delicious, fermented products. By making the unique benefits of these foods accessible, we’re driving health and lifestyle improvements while transforming the future of food. We value talent, creativity, and authenticity, fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace where everyone’s contributions make us better. Join us to make a meaningful impact in a growing industry and help create a healthier, happier world—one bite at a time.

About this role:

We are seeking a highly analytical and business-savvy Business Analyst Intern to join our central team for the summer. This role is designed for a graduate-level student who is looking to apply advanced analytical thinking to real business challenges in a fast-growing, multi-brand food platform.

The Business Analyst Intern will play a key role in supporting decision-making across our portfolio by translating data into actionable insights, partnering with cross-functional leaders, and contributing to high-impact strategic and operational initiatives.

Accountable for:

  • Analyze financial, operational, and market data across multiple food brands to support strategic initiatives
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and models to track KPIs, forecast trends, and monitor brand performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, marketing, operations, supply chain) to drive data-informed decisions
  • Conduct business process analysis and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Support strategic initiatives, including exposure to M&A evaluation, due diligence, and integration planning
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments that may impact portfolio companies
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Participate in site visits (up to 15% travel) to connect analysis with real-world operations and support production teams

Why this role is interesting:

This is not a traditional analytics internship. You will operate at the intersection of strategy, operations, and finance, with visibility across multiple brands within a growing platform.

You will work directly with cross-functional leaders to translate data into decisions, contribute to real-time business challenges, and gain exposure to areas rarely accessible at the intern level, including M&A evaluation and operational performance improvement.

By the end of the summer, you will have owned meaningful analyses, influenced key decisions, and developed a practical understanding of how a multi-brand food company scales.

In addition, you will benefit from dedicated mentorship, exposure to senior leadership, and the opportunity to present your work and recommendations at the conclusion of your internship. High-performing interns may be considered for future full-time opportunities.

Role Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an MBA or comparable graduate-level program in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Prior experience in business analysis, consulting, finance, or a related field (internship or full-time experience)Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, forecasting, and operational KPIs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience engaging with senior stakeholders

How you differentiate yourself:

  • Experience working in or analyzing a multi-brand or portfolio-based business model
  • Familiarity with supply chain, manufacturing, or operations analysis, particularly in food or CPG environments
  • Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite)
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems and drive them to resolution

Benefits available

  • Paid holidays during the internship period
  • Competitive paid internship experience
  • Relocation assistance (if located 50+ miles from Madison, WI)
  • Access to FFH office environment, including espresso, snacks, and team events
  • Exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Dedicated mentorship and end-of-internship presentation opportunity
