What can I do as a NAII?

  • NA IIs work under the direction of an RN to provide safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and families to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status.  Responsibilities include:
    • Direct patient care delivery, including, but not limited to:
    • ADLs/hygiene, Vital signs, I&O, Bladder scanning, EKG, Glucometer & other point of care testing (where applicable) and Restraints
    • Communication and documentation of interventions and observations
    • Participation in quality improvement process 
    • Involved in learning and self-improvement 
    • Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients/customers and coworkers - why UH

Education Requirements
