About the Role

As a Management Mate you'll be an essential part of our mission to provide safe and reliable maritime services. You'll work alongside a dedicated team that values professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Train on the intricacies of vessel maneuvering, port operations, customer service, engineering and safety.
  • Train on and gain first hand experience with marine propulsion systems, various towing configurations, and ship assist methods.
  • Required to understand the fundamentals of propulsion on the vessels they work on.
  • Gain training and practical experience in rigging, synthetic line care and utilization, ISM compliance, SMS (Safety Management System) and VMS (Vessel Management System) procedures, as well as leadership development.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of two years vessel experience as a Deckhand, Deckhand/Engineer or licensed deck officer experience. Able Seafarer rating preferred.
  • Valid Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC) and a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Must be able to climb aboard tugs and barges, ascend and descend ladders and balance while aboard vessels in a seaway. Must be able to kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach overhead, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Upon next license renewal must obtain "Master of Towing Vessels upon Oceans" endorsement. May be required to complete the TOAR during qualification period.
