Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring Epic and stroke thrombectomy experience.
Details
- Work in the Interventional Radiology unit of a hospital setting
- Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
- 4-room unit with an average daily census of 25
- Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Required to work every third weekend, no more than 2 per month
- Floating required within the facility and scope of practice as needed
- Call requirements apply, rotated among the team
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Stroke thrombectomy experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Interventional Radiology RN experience required
- Experience with vascular studies/procedures, angioplasty, and upper/lower extremity angiography
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care in pre and post procedure settings, including vascular closure systems, sheath removal/monitoring, and procedural sedation
- Assist with central line insertion, PICC line care, and implanted port maintenance
- Responsibilities include IV therapy, blood product administration, and administration of emergency medications
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of consideration
- Holiday coverage required based on assignment period: 1-2 major holidays require full availability with no holiday RTO, while 3 major holidays allow for one holiday RTO request
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous Piedmont employees (Perm/Per Diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Shift schedule is firm with no alternate shift or schedule requests permitted
