Job description

We are currently hiring for a General Laborer at our Lighthouse Adhesives facility to fill, stack and label buckets of adhesives by following specific instructions and procedures outlined by the company processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Employee must pass a fitness for duty test, drug screen and submit to a TB test on a post offer employment physical.
  • Maintain assigned equipment by performing required pre-operational, in process and post operational inspections. Immediately report any possibilities of contamination, needed mechanical repair or safety issues to the Production Manager.
  • Fill buckets with adhesives.
  • Stack full buckets of adhesives on pallets.
  • Using a label machine to label buckets.
  • Observe safety rules and practices.
  • Ascend and descend stairs, vertical ladders and work platforms.
  • Manually open and close a variety of types and sizes of valves located from near floor level to above the head.
  • Read warning signs, hazard labels, operating procedures.
  • Rotate other general labor positions within the plant including filling, stacking and labeling
  • Perform basic mathematical functions and understand units of measure in English.
  • Job is performed onsite. No remote work offered for this position.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Push, pull or roll 55 gallons containers frequently throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Work in an uncontrolled environment where temperatures fluctuate based on the outside temperatures.
  • Wear respirator, self-contained breathing apparatus, and any other safety equipment required by the specific task being performed.
  • Ability to operate all equipment to fill buckets.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma (or GED), preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing on a concrete floor during the 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to work in an uncontrolled environmental setting where temperatures can be extremely cold, hot or humid depending on the outside temperature.
  • Work in an environment where there are unexpected, sudden loud noises, beeping backup alarms, flashing lights and sudden movements.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at times by lifting, pulling or pushing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds by reaching above the shoulders.
  • Job is performed onsite. Remote work is not available.
  • If a respirator is required for the job, must be able to pass a respirator certification and maintain a clean-shaven face at all times.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Overtime can be mandatory from time to time based on business need.
  • Work environment is on site. Remote work not offered for this position.

Pay Range

  • Starting pay is $19.00 per hour.
