Job Title Operator, Transportation Driver.NE Location Virginia Beach, VA, US Organization Name Material Transportation and Logistics Work Schedule and Other Information Brief Description Under broad guidance, the Transportation Driver Operator is responsible for operating commercial vehicles and trailer combinations that require a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Transporting Chemicals, Wastewater, Wastewater Biosolids, Biosolids, Incinerator ash, and any other logistic needs in HRSD's service area. • Experience operating class A commercial vehicles and heavy equipment
Desired
• Knowledge of operating tractor trailers with PTO (Power-Take-Off) systems, tankers with hydraulic-driven vacuum pumps, dump trailers, and live bed trailers
• knowledge of full air to air over hydraulic brakes
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license from the state of residence.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with H (Hazardous Materials) and N (Tank Vehicle) endorsements must be obtained within 30 days of appointment to the position or if having to go through CDL school must be obtained 30 days after school completion date. This may result in removal from the position and potentially employment with HRSD.
• Must be able to attain and maintain a TWIC card and Port ID
