Behavioral Health RN Position Summary
The Behavioral Health RN provides superior psychiatric services for the adult population. The Behavioral Health RN can expect to enjoy various groups as a treatment modality e.g. symptom management groups, medication education, anger management, relaxation group, stress management, discharge planning and healthy lifestyles. Most common diagnoses include Depressive Disorders, schizophrenia, schizoaffective, Bipolar and Anxiety Disorders. The Behavioral Health RN acts as a patient advocate. The Behavioral Health RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.
Behavioral Health RN Position Requirements
Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
Behavioral Health RN Work Schedule
May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.
Scheduled off at least three holidays per year.
Required to work weekends per unit need.
Expected to work overtime on occasion.
