Job description

Position Summary:
This role is responsible for ensuring the safety of members and guests in the pools and immediate surrounding areas.
Primary Duties:
  • Maintain safety in and around the pools.
  • Provide supervision and perform life saving measures when necessary.
  • Be aware of and participate in the servicing of the pool and maintenance of emergency equipment.
  • Ability to be flexible and accommodating to meet Wellness Center hours and member needs.
  • Must meet and maintain all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
  • Complete knowledge of all Wellness Center safety protocols and confidence communicating via radio/overhead and with EMS as needed.
  • Represent Humboldt Park Health in a positive and professional manner.

Position Requirements:
  • Current Lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization is required.
  • Previous experience as a lifeguard preferred.
  • Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.
  • Be dependable, alert, and able to interact with members and guests of all ages in a positive manner.
  • Maintain composure and act appropriately in moments when multiple unexpected challenges arise concurrently.
  • Possess a passion for fitness, health, athletics, and wellness. Enthusiastic, professional, and genuine demeanor.
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
