Job description

The Pool Technician is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and safe operation of all five swimming pools within the Property Owners Association (POA). This role includes daily water quality testing, chemical adjustments, equipment inspections, minor repairs, and ensuring all pools meet local health and safety codes. The Pool Technician works both independently and as part of a facilities team to ensure a clean, safe, and enjoyable swimming environment for all residents and guests. 

The Pool Technician provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Castle Group.  He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Castle Royal Service. 


  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance of all POA-managed pools, including water testing, chemical balancing, and cleaning. 
  • Monitor and adjust chemical levels (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, etc.) to meet health department regulations. 
  • Clean pool decks, tiles, filters, and baskets; vacuum pools as needed. 
  • Inspect pumps, filters, heaters, valves, and other pool equipment to ensure proper operation; report or repair issues as necessary. 
  • Document water readings, chemical usage, and maintenance logs accurately and consistently. 
  • Identify and respond to safety hazards or maintenance concerns in and around pool areas. 
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal pool safety and sanitation standards. 
  • Coordinate with vendors or contractors for major repairs or specialty services. 
  • Assist in opening and closing pools for the season, including draining, refilling, or winterizing equipment when required. 
  • Respond to resident or staff inquiries and concerns regarding pool conditions professionally and promptly. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

High school diploma or GED required. 

Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in pool maintenance or related field preferred. 

Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire. 

Strong knowledge of pool systems, chemical handling, and safety practices. 

Ability to read and interpret chemical test results and equipment manuals. 

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently across multiple locations. 

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. 

Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
