Outdoor Work, a Real Trade, and a Team That Has Your Back

Do you enjoy being outside and working with your hands? Like learning new things and using your brain but don't want to be stuck behind a computer?

Sarasota's top-rated pool service company has an opening for a Pool Service Technician. We've been in business since 2004 and have won local, state, and national awards. We have year-round work and stable demand in a recession-resistant industry.

If you don't have pool experience, that's ok โ€” so long as you have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, an appetite for learning, and a positive attitude, we'll teach you the pool service trade. Some of our best technicians came from outside the pool industry.

Pool Technician Benefits

  • Pay range: $18.00โ€“$23.00/hour (base + P4P). Starting base pay is $18.00/hour, with potential for a higher starting rate based on experience and qualifications. Base wages advance through our Tech Level system (Tech I โ†’ Tech IV). Once you're running your own route (typically by 90 days), our Pay-for-Performance (P4P) Bonus Program can add approximately $40โ€“$120+ per week on top of base for efficient, high-quality work. The top of the range represents experienced, fully-trained route technicians performing at a high level โ€” not a guaranteed or starting rate.
  • Pay-for-Performance (P4P) Bonus Program โ€” During training, you'll earn your hourly base pay plus eligibility for the $50 weekly discretionary bonus described below. Once you're running your own route, P4P kicks in on top of your base hourly pay, with no cap on the upside โ€” the harder and more efficiently you work, the more you earn.
  • Weekly $50 Discretionary Bonus for perfect attendance, a clean truck, no client complaints or client-announced green pools, and accurate water chemistry documentation within prescribed testing windows.
  • Company-Paid Telehealth through Recuro Health โ€” virtual doctor visits and the ability to select a primary care physician. (Telehealth, not full health insurance.)
  • $10,000 Company-Paid Term Life Insurance, with the option to elect higher coverage at group rates โ€” the policy is transferable if you ever leave employment.
  • Flexible Benefits Allowance โ€” $50 per month in company contribution toward additional benefits of your choice: enhanced dental and vision, accident, hospital indemnity, critical illness, short-term disability, or additional life insurance.
  • 401(k) with Employer Match available after 30 days.
  • Paid Time Off โ€” 5 days per year accruing from day one, plus one additional day per work anniversary, up to 10 days/year after 5 years.
  • 6 Paid Holidays plus the week of Christmas off, paid.
  • Mondayโ€“Friday schedule, 37โ€“40 hours typical. Hours over 40 paid at time-and-a-half. No overnight or weekend work.
  • Paid training and a transparent advancement path โ€” Tech Levels are reviewed regularly with clear, published criteria.
  • All gear provided โ€” company vehicle, gas, insurance, equipment, uniforms, chemicals, and supplies.

Why Join On-Time Pool Service

  • Real career path, not a dead-end job. Most pool techs jump from company to company. Our Tech Level system gives you a transparent path to higher pay-per-pool rates as you build skill, quality, and tenure. We promote from within for Team Lead, Repair Technician, Route Manager, and our growing Renovation department.
  • You'll learn a real trade. Water chemistry, pool equipment, basic electrical and plumbing, and customer service โ€” skills that make you genuinely valuable, not interchangeable with the next applicant.
  • Predictable schedule, real life outside of work. Mondayโ€“Friday, no on-call, no weekends (occasional Saturdays available voluntarily), no overnights. Home for dinner.
  • Modern tools. Pool Brain software for routes and documentation, well-maintained trucks, carbon fiber poles, and commercial vacuums. We invest in the things you use every day.
  • A team that backs you up. Team Leads, trainers, and a Route Manager you can call when you run into something you haven't seen before. You're not on an island.
  • Recognition that means something. We've earned the most 5-star Google reviews of any pool service in our area, plus multiple Readers Choice and Nextdoor awards.

Our Core Values

  • Respect โ€” for each other, our clients, and our clients' property
  • Communicate โ€” timely and professionally
  • Do the Right Thing โ€” even when nobody is looking
  • Adapt and Adjust โ€” change is constant; how we respond defines us
  • Deliver Quality โ€” every pool, every visit

Pool Technician Responsibilities

  • Test and balance pool water by adding the appropriate chemicals.
  • Clean the pool โ€” brushing, vacuuming, netting, cleaning tiles, and emptying baskets.
  • Perform minor equipment repairs and basic programming.
  • Document each visit accurately in our pool service software.
  • Communicate clearly with clients on-site and with the office team.
  • Maintain a clean, organized company truck.
  • After training, manage a route of approximately 80โ€“90 residential pools per week (typically 15โ€“20 per day).

Pool Technician Qualifications

  • Available Mondayโ€“Friday. Start time between 6:45 and 8:00 am (your choice), except for scheduled team meeting on Wednesdays at 7:30.
  • Must be 21 or older with a clean driving record for the past three years (no recent major accidents or infractions) โ€” required by our commercial auto insurance.
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work in the Florida heat and weather.
  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, works well independently, and exhibits team-oriented behaviors.
  • Background check required upon conditional offer of employment.
  • Those with experience in pool service, lawn care, landscaping, painting, construction, pest control, cleaning, general labor, or janitorial work are encouraged to apply.

Our Hiring Process

We move quickly for the right candidate. Our process is designed to be respectful of your time, keeping you informed while making sure the role is a strong mutual fit:

  1. Click " Apply " and answer a few short questions.
  2. Complete a job-fit assessment (typically 10-15 minutes).
  3. Record a short one-way video interview (about 5 minutes) โ€” answer the same three questions every candidate answers.
  4. Have a phone or video conversation with our hiring team.
  5. In-person interview at our Sarasota location.
  6. Conditional offer pending a clean background check.
