Job description

Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at the Buttes is looking for a Pool Associate.
Duties:
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of pool area.
  • Acknowledge and greet all guests with utmost courtesy and urgency, to assist.
  • Monitor use of the slide and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
  • Assist guests, answer questions, aide, and respond to needs quickly and accurately.
  • Handle customer service needs with a friendly and caring - yet assertive - demeanor, following resort standards and safety guidelines.
  • Collect dirty towels then wash, fold and restock the towel kiosk.
  • Arrange lounge and deck chairs, empty trash cans, clear tabletops, and maintain walkways and stairs.
  • Enforce pool rules.
  • Perform the daily opening/closing procedures, including informing swimmers of closing 15 minutes in advance.
  • Disinfecting and straightening chairs and tables: putting umbrellas up/down: sanitizing regularly touching surfaces.
  • Assist with events, programs, and activities as requested.
  • Ensure that all guests are wearing wristbands and verify hotel guests; respectfully and with high courtesy, work with guests to resolve infractions.
  • Collect items left by guests; store lost items in the lost and found; retrieve and return to the owner as necessary.
  • Visually inspect the pool to ensure proper clarity and cleanliness; notify the manager of any items that would require immediate attention.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds, stay on feet for long periods of time, and be physically able to complete the execution of duties.

Other Requirements:
  • Project an approachable and professional image in personal appearance, manner, and demeanor.
  • Must be comfortable approaching guests who may not be following policies; capable of handling escalated situations.
