Job Summary and Objectives:
Job Title: Assistant Food & Beverage Director
Reports To: Food & Beverage Director
Year-round operational support across all F&B venues (Clubhouse, Barn, Pool) with focused ownership of pool and outdoor operations during summer season.
The Assistant Food & Beverage Director at Woodhill Country Club provides operational leadership and strategic support across all F&B venues, including the Clubhouse, Barn, and Pool operations. This role partners closely with the F&B Director to ensure consistent service excellence, operational execution, and member satisfaction across all dining outlets year-round, with focused ownership of pool and outdoor F&B during summer months. The Assistant Director leads through visible presence, proactive problem-solving, and genuine commitment to member satisfaction.
• Support F&B Director in day-to-day operational execution across all dining venues (Clubhouse, Barn, Pool) ensuring consistency in service standards, member experience, and team performance.
• Lead floor operations during service periods, including pre-shift stand-ups, real-time coaching, member engagement, and service recovery across all outlets.
• Manage member feedback systems club-wide, including comment card tracking, online review monitoring, and end-of-service recaps to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Own all aspects of pool and outdoor F&B operations (May-August), including menu execution, staffing, service standards, member experience, and budget performance.
• Supervise pool cafe cooks, servers, lifeguards, and swim coaches; recruit, train, schedule, and develop staff to deliver consistent service.
• Provide administrative support to F&B Director, including scheduling coordination across all outlets, P-Mix reporting and trending analysis, operational documentation, and compliance tracking.
• Coordinate facility maintenance for pool area, including cleaning, repairs, and vendor relationships to ensure operational readiness.
• Support event execution in coordination with Director of Catering and Events, ensuring seamless F&B service for club functions and member celebrations.
• Serve as backup leadership for F&B operations during Director's absence or time off.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Primary direct reports: Pool cafe cooks, servers, lifeguards, and swim coaches (May-August)
• Operational leadership: Provides shift supervision and floor leadership for Clubhouse and Barn service staff year-round in partnership with F&B Director
• Coordination: Works collaboratively with F&B Manager(s) to ensure consistent execution across all outlets
• Hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and accountability for all pool and outdoor F&B staff.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive food & beverage management experience with demonstrated success in hands-on operational leadership.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a private club, resort, or upscale dining environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple F&B outlets or venues simultaneously, with ability to shift priorities based on seasonal operational needs.
• Experience managing seasonal or outdoor F&B operations preferred.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft 365; experience with Restaurant Manager software is a plus.
Professional Skills & Knowledge
• Strong operational knowledge of food and beverage service, including inventory management, service standards, and member experience delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive revenue growth within assigned areas.
• Working knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations; ability to ensure compliance across all service areas.
• Proficiency in analyzing member feedback data and translating insights into actionable operational improvements.
• Experience with staff training and development; ability to coach team members to deliver consistent, elevated service.

General Schedule:
Tuesday through Sunday (Summer); Wednesday through Sunday (Winter), with flexibility to support events as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The leadership team is committed to balancing closing shifts and workload distribution, and strives to provide two days off per week when operational demands allow.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and twist.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls, and burns. Frequent hand washing is required. Regular direct member interaction and coordination across departments.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Base salary: $65,000-$70,000 per year, with an annual performance bonus of up to 5% of base salary based on achievement of established goals.
