To thrive as a Pool Monitor, you need a strong understanding of pool safety, basic first aid, and the ability to enforce facility rules, typically with a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with emergency communication devices and, in some settings, a CPR or first aid certification is often required. Excellent observational skills, clear communication, and a calm, approachable demeanor help Pool Monitors effectively interact with guests and handle incidents.
