Maintenance Technician I (1 Full Time Positions Available)
Work Schedule: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

SUMMARY
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment (including HVAC and refrigeration equipment), physical structures, pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Works with Director of Plant Operation on scheduling refurbishing of cottages/apartments.
  • Works with Director Plant Operation with daily assignments of work orders.
  • Keep Director of Plant Operations informed of daily operations of the department.
  • Meets with staff on a daily schedule to adjust work demands, if needed.
  • Works with Director of Plant Operation on special Projects that may be assigned.
  • Ability to use HVAC/R test equipment to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Ability to use refrigeration recycling equipment.
  • Ability to use HVAC/R certificate number to purchase refrigerant, utilizing company purchasing process.
  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures on equipment and machinery as assigned.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Ability to read building blue prints.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required to be certified as a Level II HVAC amp; R Technician. Two year degree in mechanical systems, refrigeration/air conditioning maintenance preferred. Must be CPR certified within 30 days of employment.
