About the Position
DevCo US Construction is hiring for a Full-Time Construction Superintendent to join our multi-family development project in Mesa, AZ (Recker Gardens)! Recker Gardens is a 132-unit garden-style build with six buildings, a pool, playground and dog park.. The Site Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget, meeting quality standards and are done safely. The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all of the daily operations of the construction site.

Pay Details: $130,000 to $160,000 in Annual Salary + Performance bonus target of 15%
Schedule: Generally,Monday-Friday (as agreed upon with the hiring manager)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible to plan and set up the job site, preparation and maintenance of Project Schedule and ensure the life/ safety plans are developed and implemented. Oversee the Assistant Superintendent for scheduling of materials, equipment, manpower, and subcontractors to ensure project schedule and quality are met. Review and approve the updated project schedule that the Assistant Site Superintendent will distribute to all subcontractors. Monitor the pace and quality of work. Work with the Project Manager to prepare status reports and regularly monitor deliveries, subcontractors and schedules. Oversee and direct the allocation of project resources appropriately (manpower, materials and equipment) through phone conversations and emails keeping accurate records of daily activities.
  • Supervise entire construction field staff, ensuring project deadlines are met
  • Ability to anticipate and overcome project challenges
  • Maintain a strong relationship with Project Managers
  • Lead daily/weekly meetings to ensure the team is working together successfully and delivering quality work
  • Manage and maintain project safety
  • Maintain OSHA requirements at all times
  • Participate in OAC meetings as required
  • Mentor less experienced construction professionals
  • Track project documentation, tasks, issues, etc.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors
  • The ability to become proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project (proficiency greatly preferred).
  • Travel will be required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ground Up Low Income Housing Tax Credit Multifamily Construction Project Experience
  • Garden Style, Podium, Wrap and/or Open Courtyard and Urban Mid Rise Project Experience. Post Tension experience desirable.
  • Strong Reputation for working well with Subcontractors
  • Ability to create strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Manage entire process from start to finish - including site clearing, earth work, underground utilities, site planning/logistics, managing/leading the entire field team on the site, walking the site regularly, scheduling, evaluating performance, & communicating to Project Manager.

  • 4-year degree in a construction related field or commensurate field experience.
  • 5-7 years work experience in garden style multifamily construction site supervision with proven ability to use multiple types of software to efficiently manage projects.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screen required.
  • Must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. meeting I-9 guidelines.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English in a manner sufficient to carry out duties.
