The Equipment Services Technician plays a key role in supporting field service operations by assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of fountain and aeration systems. Working alongside the service team, this position helps complete daily service routes, perform service calls, and ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.

This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset. The Equipment Services Technician communicates with customers on site, maintains accurate service documentation, and follows proper equipment handling and safety procedures.

At The Pond Guy, we operate with a strong family dynamic that extends beyond our team and into every customer relationship. We take pride in treating customers like part of that family and hold ourselves to the highest standards of quality, professionalism, and care in every project we complete.

Here are some examples of the actual work your day would include.

  • Stay current on industry standards and application methods to support the service department’s reputation as the “Go To” name for pond services; participate in aquatic herbicide and algaecide application activities while ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Follow and help reinforce all safety procedures regarding product use, equipment installation and service, electrical practices, and safety devices
  • Assist in maintaining accurate documentation of work orders, inventory usage, and consumption
  • Assist with vehicle, equipment, inventory, and shop audits; ensure proper cleaning and storage procedures are followed before, during, and after routes; address and report any concerns
  • Support a continuous learning environment by being cross-trained and executing on all service-related positions
  • Maintain professionalism while representing The Pond Guy in the field and when interacting with customers
  • Support shop cleanliness and assist with grounds maintenance and general building upkeep as required

  • Experience operating heavy machinery a plus
  • Basic knowledge of pond management, fish health, and wildlife behaviors is a plus
  • Cross-train on pond management, including obtaining state certification as a chemical applicator

In the field, expect adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, etc. for portions of the position that may be completed in these circumstances.
