The Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is where the arts, sciences, and technology meet under one roof and breathe the same air. Four exceptional venues enable audiences, artists, and researchers to inquire, experiment, develop, and experience the ever-changing relationship between our senses, technology, and the worlds we create around us. EMPAC is an icon of the New Polytechnic, a new paradigm for cross-disciplinary research and education at Rensselaer.
Job Summary
Front of House Captain - helps to open/close EMPAC building on non-event days, completes tasks assigned by FOH, prep workstation for the day. Assist with ticket sales, customer service, and day of event management. Supervision of student workers.
Sr. Front of House Captain - opens/closes EMPAC building independently on event/non-event days. Work closely with visiting artists to arrange event area, set up and/or run registration table, handle cleanup of event space and other affected areas. Supervises student workers, both ushers and front desk staff. Assists with planning/prep for events. Manage/run events independently in absence of FOH staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years related experience

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.
