North Shore Strategies is seeking motivated and professional Political Canvassers to support our grassroots field efforts across Fayetteville, NC. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, outgoing communicator who is passionate about civic engagement and committed to promoting Democratic causes. Political Canvassers are on the front lines of our campaign operations, having direct conversations with voters to inform, persuade, and mobilize support for candidates and initiatives.
About the Role
As a Political Canvasser, you'll play a critical role in the democratic process through face-to-face voter engagement. Responsibilities typically include delivering campaign messages, collecting petition signatures, and building lasting support for candidates and issues in your community.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-person voter outreach through door-to-door canvassing
  • Deliver persuasive, accurate messaging about candidates and ballot initiatives
  • Record daily data and submit reports to program leadership
  • Consistently meet or exceed outreach and engagement goals
  • Represent North Shore Strategies with professionalism and integrity
  • Attend trainings and team meetings to stay aligned on strategy and talking points
  • Build positive relationships with voters to strengthen community trust

Qualifications
  • (For petitioning tasks) Must be a registered voter in your state of residence
  • Able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week when a program is active
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort engaging strangers
  • Reliable, goal-oriented, able to work independently and in a team
  • Willing and able to canvass outdoors for extended periods in varying weather
  • Prior experience in canvassing, sales, customer service, or community organizing a plus, not required
  • Strong belief in progressive values and civic participation
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and performance targets
