Job description

LOCATION: New York City
JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
Allianz Trade (AZT), Specialty Credit (SC) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Underwriter to join our growing team in New York City. The role requires extensive experience in the US Credit and Political Risk Insurance (CPRI) market and/or relevant banking experience; as well as a desire to work in a fast-paced and rewarding culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Originate, negotiate and execute CPRI transactions by liaising with brokers and clients;
  • Select opportunities based on AZT/SC underwriting criteria and manage the commercial underwriting process, in coordination with our credit analyst team;
  • Analyze domestic and international risks by evaluating financial information to recommend appropriate credit limits and terms;
  • Support SC Regional Head in strengthening and developing SC in the US market, including through the introduction of new products and new clients;
  • Drive meaningful growth, long-term quality and profitability for the portfolio;
  • Maintaining and properly servicing an existing portfolio of trade credit insurance business;
  • Represent AZT/SC in all relevant external meetings, conferences and events in the US.

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Relevant experience in the Credit and Political Risk Insurance market and/or banking sector (min. 5-8+ years) including:
  • In-depth knowledge of credit insurance structures (single-buyer, portfolios, and medium-term contracts) and banking products (supply chain finance, term loans, revolving credit facilities, and project finance).
  • Ability to negotiate high-profile transactions, including pricing and strong working knowledge of market wordings.
  • An established network with Credit and Political Risk Insurance brokers.
  • Strong organizational / communication skills and efficient work practices.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team and cultivate relationships with brokers & clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance preferred.

  • Looking for candidates that possess a basic awareness of Artificial Intelligence technologies and are enthusiastic about learning and integrating AI into everyday business processes.

Total compensation range:
$180,000 - $200,000
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary ranges are only one component of our total compensation package.
