Part-Time Dental Hygienist

Blue Ridge Health is currently seeking a Part-Time Dental Hygienist to be part of our Dental Team in Hendersonville, NC.

What You'll Do:

Performs duties of a dental hygienist by completing dental prophylaxis; providing oral radiographic studies; charting conditions of decay and disease; performing procedures in compliance with dental standard practice. Responsibilities include:

  • Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins.
  • Responsible for the preparation and setting up of materials necessary for each procedure.
  • Detects potential disease by using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess levels of recession
  • Assist in managing dental emergencies
  • Mechanical polishing of the coronal portion of the teeth
  • Application of desensitizing agents
  • Whitening of the coronal portion of the teeth using tray-based systems; including the application of a dam if required for these tray-based systems
  • Application of desensitizing agents
  • Responsible for following all OSHA Standards, sterilization of instruments, and the cleaning and routine maintenance of the clinic and equipment.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification/Licensure Specific Requirements: Must Maintain CPR Certification Dental Radiology Certification
  • Knowledge of dental terminology
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required. If bilingual, provides language support services, as requested, based on patient and clinic needs.
