Job description

Position Objective:
To enhance student learning by providing individual instruction to students under the guidance of the classroom teacher, to assist in supporting and directing age-appropriate activities of children, to support other staff with assigned activities, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment for the students.
Qualifications:
Ability to work effectively and compassionately with students, families, and staff
Ability to utilize technology for email communciations, calendar appointments, record keeping, etc.
Must hold or be will to acquire substitute teacher license
Oral and written fluency in English
Spanish or Polish Language skills a plus

Terms of Employment:
Hours Per Day: 7.0
Start/End Times: 8:30a - 4:00p
Compensation: Teaching Assistant - Type 1, $18.96 - $20.21 (Like experience considered)
Participates in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) pension fundย (reciprocal pension with TRS)
Eligible for paid holidays, time off benefits, and medical/dental insurance benefits
