Position title: Career Development Faculty in OB/GYN Research Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and, if applicable, rank and/or step. The pay range for this position is $250,000 - $400,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. The Department is seeking physician-scientists for Faculty Career Development Positions in the following areas: Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM), Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), Gynecologic Oncology (Gyn Onc), Complex Family Planning (CFP), Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS), Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS), Hospitalist, or Academic Specialist in Ob/Gyn.

The University of California, San Diego offers an outstanding academic environment with well-funded programs in clinical, translational, and basic research spanning cellular, molecular, and systems-level investigations.

The initial 2-5 years of the positions are supported by the NICHD-sponsored Women's Reproductive Health Research Career Development K12 Program. The objective of this career development program is to provide advanced training for outstanding physicians in basic, translational, and/or bedside research, thereby fostering the development of independent physician-scientists in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The selected candidates will devote approximately 75% effort to mentored and independent research activities, with anticipated effort allocation of 10-20% for clinical responsibilities and 5-10% for teaching activities.

Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level in the Adjunct series.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be board eligible or board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Candidates must also either have or be eligible for a California medical license or an equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
