Description

The ALIS System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the integrity of all databases within the ALIS system. The System Administrator maintains the internal database of the system as well as the individual applications. The System DB Administrator works closely with the System Administrator to carry out and sustain system-wide backups and restores. The System Administrator will provide maintenance of databases to include the following backups, disaster recovery, database support (status checks, Oracle critical patch updates).

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Performs Database technical duties to include general backups, restore, updates, testing, debugging, integration and analysis.

Provides user access to data, keeping servers operational, configuring assets to support user needs, troubleshooting assets.

Execution and troubleshooting of database SQL scripts and report/correct finding and issues to the development team.

Create database backups for Disaster Recovery preparation and maintenance on the Oracle databases.

Develop Scripts to perform Level 0 and delta (Level 1) backups, full logical export of all database data that collects snapshots of parameter files and checks database for logical and physical corruption.

Perform Database restoration for disaster recovery from most current backups.

Status check scripts to troubleshoot database issues by pulling status of every database on the server, status of the database listener, and provide database system file tampering notification.

Manually install Oracle Critical Patch Updates.

Reviewing V$ tables and DBA views for any issues that may arise.

Locate user session data via the command line.

Performance tune utilizing SQL commands (without using Oracle Enterprise Manager).

Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) experience for backup and recovery to include hot and cold backups.

Other duties as identified and assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.

Understand SQL/PL-SQL language and be able to execute.

Experience with importing large data volumes and managing large Oracle and SQL Server databases.

Setting up configuring and troubleshooting all aspects that make up Storage Area Network (SAN) Fabric architecture (Zoning, logical unit number (LUN) Masking, and host bus adapter (HBA) Hardware. 

Setting up configuring and troubleshooting all aspects that make up Internet Protocol (IP) Switch Fabric architecture (Routing, Fail Over, etc) 

Working knowledge of Networked Attached Storage (NAS) and supported protocols. 

Engineering skills required for maintaining Enterprise Server Racks. 

Strong Working knowledge of SSL/VPN security architecture with integration into multi-layered Firewall architecture. 

Ability to work with EMC storage configuration tools (Navisphere, Visual SAN, Fabric Manager). 

Performing System Virtual Volume Imaging and Recovery Disk to Disk/DR and Disk to Tape. 

COTS/developed software skills. 

Software Engineering background and experience. 

Integration & Test experience. 

Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook 

Experience in managing emails, calendars, and schedules for multiple leaders. 

Experience in travel planning and expense reconciliation. 

Experience in supporting multiple leaders within the same site or geographically. 

Recent successful administrative support experience. 

Excellent written/verbal communication skills. 

Strong organizational skills. 

Demonstrated effective customer service and teaming skills. 

Ability to work effectively with professionals in a geographically distributed environment. 

Understanding of the F-35 Development Business Area. 

Basic understanding of financial concepts. 

Possess project management skills. 

Working knowledge of SharePoint. 

Skill in coordinating/executing meetings/events for large groups. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Security + Plus Certification (mandatory), or able to obtain within 3 months.

Eligible and obtain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.

Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures. 

Security+ Certification Required

May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information, or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information. 

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams.  

Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.

Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills 

Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.

Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems.  

May be exposed to conditions of extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
