4.0 hours/day (approximately 9:00 am-1:00 pm)

2025/26 Rate of Pay: $15.00/hour
This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation and service of food items. Critical areas include monitoring of food portions in order to minimize waste and maintaining sanitary conditions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Prepare foods in kind and quantity according to dietary standards
2. Prepare serving stations for breakfast or lunch services
3. Plate foods in service line during breakfast and/or lunch
4. Operate Point of Sale (POS) computer system
5. Restock and maintain food items and supplies on serving line during service
6. Clean and sanitize lunch tables and service areas
7. Proper receipt and storage of food and supplies
8. Dishwashing, sweeping and moping kitchen and service areas
9. Attend meetings as directed
10. Operate the following equipment using appropriate safety measures:
  • Slicer, food chopper, steamer, garbage disposal, microwave, variable speed mixer, kettle, automated dishwashing machine, ovens (conventional and convection), and any additional equipment as applicable

11. Successful completion of annual training standards as established under the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture
12. Adherence to Food Service Department uniform requirements
13. Other administrative duties as assigned, including availability to work additional hours on occasion

OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret written and verbal information.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures using standard monetary denominations; Ability to apply standard concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Reasoning Ability: Able to solve practical problems and deal with several variables at once; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Other Required Skills and Abilities: Perform duties with awareness of all District requirements
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or equivalent or 3 months related experience and/or training is required. The following clearances must be provided upon hire and updated every five years in accordance with Act 153: PA State Police- Act 34, Child Abuse-Act 151, and FBI Fingerprint-Act 114. Child Abuse training (or proof of completion) in accordance with Act 126 upon hire and repeated every five years thereafter. A negative TB test is required upon hire.
