About the Position
The Hillsborough Police Department is looking for individuals of high moral character with a genuine desire to serve and make a difference to become part of our team. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.
Job Duties
Police officers are responsible for patrolling of town streets and neighborhoods to deter crime or apprehend and/or arrest violators or suspects, responding to calls for law enforcement assistance, gathering information for criminal investigations, and meeting with and working with community members. Fluency in a foreign language is desired (Spanish preferred). A valid North Carolina Driver's License is required.
Position Qualifications
The hiring process varies depending on candidates' backgrounds. For candidates who are enrolled in or have completed BLET, the hiring process includes:

Hiring range for officers who have completed BLET: $54,912 - $94,573
