This is accomplished through traditional and progressive law enforcement practices and strong community partnership.
Job Summary
The Police Operations Specialist (Quartermaster) is responsible for efficiently managing departmental equipment, supplies, and inventory while ensuring compliance with policies and accreditation standards. This role includes coordinating procurement, tracking and maintaining assets, supporting evidence and property handling procedures, and assisting with accreditation and records management processes. Additionally, the position provides administrative support, maintains accurate documentation, and contributes to audits, reporting, overall operational efficiency within Support Services.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Quartermaster Operations
Manage issuance, tracking, maintenance, and inventory of all departmental equipment and supplies; coordinate procurement, ordering, receiving, and distribution; conduct inspections, audits, and inventory control; coordinate repair, replacement, and disposal of equipment while ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
Administrative Support
Provide general administrative assistance, prepare reports, maintain documentation, and support projects and other duties as assigned.
Records Management Support
Assist with records processing, data entry, and file maintenance; support records retention compliance and public records requests; ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
Accreditation Support
Assist with maintaining accreditation files and documentation; assist with compliance tracking, audits, and preparation; assist to ensure records meet accreditation standards.
Evidence & Property Support
Assist with intake, storage, tracking, and release of evidence and property; maintain proper chain-of-custody and security procedures; support inventories, audits, and disposition processes.
Other Duties
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School or GED from a recognized state or federal accredited organization with two (2) years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include prior experience in law enforcement support services, logistics, inventory, or property management. Familiarity with accreditation standards, evidence handling procedures, and records management is highly desirable.
Experience with inventory or records management systems, and strong computer skills.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

10. Determination of employment eligibility, including U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
11. Successfully complete POST certification requirements for a sworn police officer in the State of Georgia
12. Perform Mandatory reporting and response duties as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) pursuant to the Clery Act.
