Job Title: Asset Management Associate
Job Description:
BIP's Asset Management group offers the Associate the experience to play an integral role for BIP on its Asset Management team with a focus on maximizing value for the fund's investments and by acting as a critical conduit to BIP's portfolio investments. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced operators and engage with the deal team through the transaction life cycle. Additionally, the Associate will engage with senior management at BIP's portfolio companies while driving the development of financial analysis and preparation of quarterly and monthly reporting deliverables.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be engaged on all aspects of asset and portfolio management, including support during the initial diligence phase, strategy and execution of value enhancement strategies, and general areas of asset / portfolio management such as supporting Institutional Client Solutions (ICS) requests, originating and tracking Portfolio Operations engagement, KPI reporting, and ad hoc requests.
Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Support the development and implementation of asset management plans to optimize performance of BIP's portfolio companies.
  • Collaborate with investor relations to draft communications, providing insights and updates on portfolio company performance that will be shared across the business and limited partners.
  • Onboard investments and monitor portfolio companies in collaboration with the BIP deal team, Finance, Legal & Compliance, and Portfolio Operations.
  • Participate in specific strategic initiatives, refinancing activities, and management evaluations, to enhance value for portfolio companies.
  • Manage portfolio reporting activities, including preparing and presenting materials to Blackstone leadership.
  • Research industry trends, market developments, and macroeconomic factors, assess their impact on portfolio companies and highlight relevant insights for investors.
  • Work on cross-business initiatives to drive value across portfolio.
  • Manage consultants and other third parties during due diligence.

Qualifications:
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, have sound judgment, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate should have:
  • 3+ years of work experience in financial services, consulting, accounting or other relevant exposure.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, financial modeling, and performance analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Adaptability to new challenges in a dynamic environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and responsiveness.
  • Exposure to energy, transportation, real estate, telecommunications, or other asset-intensive businesses is preferred, but not required.
  • A hands-on approach to executing strategy with portfolio companies.
  • Professionalism and credibility to engage effectively with senior board members and portfolio company management.

Expected annual base salary range:
$140,000 - $150,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone's sole discretion.
