Directs and coordinates overall operations for all Point of Care/Near Patient testing performed. Provides clinical, technical, informatics oversite as well as training and guidance to non-laboratory/nursing personnel performing tests.

  • Required:
    • Education: 
      • Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489. 
      • Personnel who, prior to 2/28/92 have qualified at the Medical Technologist level by achieving a satisfactory grade on a HHS examination. 
    • Experience: 3 years of laboratory related experience.
    • Licensure/Certification: 
      • Registered in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or equivalent). 
      • Licensure, as required by State law.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience: Previous Point of Care and Management experience 
    • Licensure/Certification: 
  • Required:
    • Education:
      • Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology (medical lab scientist), or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489.
      • Personnel who, prior to 2/28/92 have qualified at the Medical Technologist level by achieving a satisfactory grade on a HHS examination.
    • Experience: 3 years of medical laboratory related experience.
    • Licensure/Certification:
      • Registered in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or equivalent).
      • Licensure, as required by State law.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience: Previous Point of Care and Management experience
    • Licensure/Certification: Medical Lab Tech/Medical Lab Scientist
  • Directs and coordinates overall operations of Point of Care and Near Patient testing programs.
  • Oversees clinical, technical, and informatics aspects of testing to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provides training and ongoing guidance to non-laboratory and nursing personnel performing tests.
  • Ensures proper implementation and adherence to testing procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Performs related duties as required
