Job description

The Staff Pad has partnered with a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Pomona, CA, to recruit a qualified and experienced Podiatrist to provide specialty foot and ankle patient centered care.

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this role is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and related structures while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

The Podiatrist collaborates closely with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes and enhance mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.

Schedule: Part-time schedule to start (working Fridays and Saturdays)

What You’ll Do

  • Provide comprehensive, patient-centered podiatric care to a diverse patient population
  • Evaluate patients by reviewing medical history, diagnostic results, referral notes, and conducting thorough assessments
  • Diagnose and treat foot and ankle conditions, including neurological and vascular disorders, ulcers, infections, and musculoskeletal complications
  • Perform in-office procedures such as debridement, ingrown toenail treatment, skin biopsies, lesion excisions, and therapeutic injections
  • Deliver acute and chronic wound care, including diabetic foot care and management of chronic conditions and care to those exposed to homelessness
  • Triage patients requiring advanced or emergency podiatric care and coordinate appropriate referrals
  • Provide preventive care, patient education, and treatment plans that promote mobility, independence, and quality of life
  • Prescribe and provide appropriate durable medical equipment to support patient mobility and recovery
  • Collaborate with primary care providers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant medical documentation, coding, and billing in accordance with organizational standards
  • Protect patient privacy by adhering to HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and all safety policies
  • Meet productivity expectations of 8.5 patients per four-hour clinical session
  • Participate in required trainings, quality improvement initiatives, and emergency response or safety programs as assigned

What We Are Looking For

Education, Certifications and Experience

  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited podiatric medical school
  • Current and unrestricted California DPM license
  • Current DEA registration and CPR certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider)
  • 2+ years of podiatrist experience, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience preferred
  • Experience providing culturally competent care to diverse patient populations

Additional Skills & Attributes

  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR); NextGen experience preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing and clinical privileges
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to assist patients on and off the examination table and reposition them as needed
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to travel between health centers and attend meetings as needed
  • Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail
