Senior Project Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of large-scale, complex programs and projects throughout the entire Project Management Lifecycle. This role is responsible for overseeing project initiation, planning, iterative development, continuous testing, execution, monitoring, control, and project closeout. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the primary technical liaison for customers and collaborate across multiple functional areas, including infrastructure (SaaS, PaaS, and on-premises environments), application development, quality assurance, change management, and customer support teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, leadership teams, and software/service vendors to ensure successful program and project delivery.

  • Provide strategic guidance and subject matter expertise for software and hardware implementations, IT systems, business processes, and enterprise applications.

  • Oversee day-to-day project execution, including defining project deliverables, developing and managing sprint plans, maintaining project schedules, and prioritizing backlogs.

  • Support internal communication initiatives and assist with resource planning and allocation activities.

  • Ensure project goals and deliverables remain aligned with organizational and stakeholder objectives.

  • Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) utilizing Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, resource plans, communication strategies, performance metrics, and reporting analytics to support project delivery.

  • Create communication plans that provide business leaders and executive stakeholders with timely, accurate project status updates to support informed decision-making.

  • Identify project dependencies, resource constraints, and potential scheduling conflicts, and work collaboratively to mitigate risks and maintain project timelines.

  • Communicate project progress, key decisions, action items, risks, issues, and schedule updates across the customer project portfolio.

  • Prepare executive-level presentations, briefings, and steering committee communications as required.

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate project team members by providing clear direction, timely information, and ongoing support to maximize performance and ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or equivalent Agile certification required.

Experience & Skills
  • Minimum of 12 years of project management experience, including the successful management and delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives ranging in size and complexity.

  • Proven experience leading at least four multi-year enterprise project implementations.

  • Demonstrated success managing projects within Agile environments and applying Agile principles and practices.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build trust, inspire teams, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Experience coaching and mentoring team members, including providing constructive written and verbal feedback.

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and Atlassian Jira/Confluence.

  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, project governance, risk management, and enterprise technology environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing projects involving cloud-based platforms (SaaS, PaaS), infrastructure modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.

  • Experience working with federal, state, or large enterprise organizations.

  • Knowledge of change management principles and quality assurance methodologies.
