Role Summary

The Project Manager is the commercial and execution owner for assigned projects. Accountable for scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, client relationship, team leadership, and commercial outcomes across the full project life cycle. The PM leads creation and maintenance of the project execution plan, runs the PMT planning cadence, and is the primary day-to-day client contact for project performance, change, and commercial discussions.

Core Accountability

The Project Manager (PM) is directly accountable for:

  • Project P&L performance, margin protection, and change management
  • Forecast accuracy, cost-to-complete discipline, and cash flow timing
  • Scope defense, commercial position, and disciplined contract execution
  • Client relationship for assigned projects
  • Project QA/QC plan execution, sign-off, and final turnover quality
  • Safety expectations, leading indicators, and event accountability for the project team
  • Development of APMs assigned to the project under the guidance of the SVP, Project Delivery

Execution Responsibilities

  • Own the project execution plan, schedule, and budget from award through closeout
  • Manage full project P&L, including WIP, forecasting, cash flow, and change orders
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact for performance, change, and commercial discussions
  • Run the PMT planning cadence - schedule reviews, look-aheads, budget updates, and forecast cycles
  • Own the project change log, contract files, and major commercial correspondence
  • Lead the estimating-to-operations handover and validate estimate assumptions during execution
  • Approve and manage major POs and subcontracts in coordination with Procurement
  • Understand full electrical scope and key technical interfaces; leverage specialists for detailed design
  • Close projects cleanly, protecting final margin and contractual position
  • Escalate major risk or commercial items beyond DOA with clear facts and mitigation plans

  • Exercise authority over project staffing, execution cadence, and performance expectations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop APMs assigned to the project
  • Set the standard for disciplined delivery, documentation, and accountability
  • Escalate risks early with clear facts and mitigation plans

Experience & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Equivalent experience considered
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction contracts, project risk management, and financial controls,
  • OSHA-30 required within 30 days of hire

Experience

  • 5-10 years of total project delivery experience on the contractor/construction side
  • Typically includes 2-4 years as APM II/Project Engineer or equivalent

Certifications & Training

  • PMP preferred. Candidates without PMP must begin formal PMP education (35 contact hours) within 6 months of appointment.
