JOB SUMMARY

Manages projects in accordance with established project governance. Plans, directs and coordinates activities of assigned projects for designated IT or Business area, to ensure that goals and approved scope are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Develops, manages and coordinates project plans of different degrees of complexity. Manages a detailed work breakdown, resource commitments, budget, risks, and communication for each phase of the project, as required by project governance. Partners with the project Business Owner and Technical Lead on project delivery strategy, providing focus on transparency and project controls.

  • Understands the basic principles, theories and concepts related to the profession and learns how to apply them within the ERCOT culture.
  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
  • Contributes to specific objectives and outcomes as directed.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
  • Under supervision of PMO management, lead multiple low/medium complexity projects from Initiation through Closing.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, resource forecasts, and budgets.
  • Coordinate and direct project team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
  • Provide clear, consistent communication to sponsors, executives, and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate decisionmaking, alignment, and conflict resolution across teams.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with PMO standards, methodologies, and governance processes.
  • Manage change control processes, ensuring documentation and stakeholder awareness.
  • Foster a project culture aligned with ERCOT's core values.
  • Oversee vendor delivery and performance, as applicable.
  • Support PMO continuous improvement initiatives, as assigned.
  • Use AI tools in support of project management functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience managing projects, product or workstream delivery in excess of degree requirements (Required)
  • Working experience at an ISO/RTO, ISO/RTO stakeholder, or Electric Utility environment (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and JIRA (Required)
  • Proficiency in AI prompt design (Preferred)
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree: Business, Management, Engineering, IT, or related field (Required)
  • or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
CERTIFICATION
  • CAPM Certified Associate in Project Management and/or working towards a PMP Project Management Professional (Preferred)
  • PMP Project Management Professional (Optional)
  • Agile and Scrum certifications (Optional)
