Material Handler/Inside Sales - Job Description
Job Title: Material Handler/Inside Sales
Location: Jourdanton, Texas
Report to: Branch Manager
PMI Pipe, Steel amp; Supplies Material Handler/Inside Sales Personnel are to participate in our warehouse/yard operations and activities. Material Handler/Inside Sales Personnel responsibilities include storing materials, picking, packing, loading orders, inventory, sales, and customer service. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Complete logs for inventory, vehicles or deliveries as required
  • Report any discrepancies
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Have an excellent knowledge of company inventory
  • Understand customer needs and requirements
  • Respond in a timely manner to company email, voice mail and text
  • Utilize all 7 locations inventory for sales, if needed
  • Yard organization – always be prepared for inventory
Requirements
  • Must be 21 or older due to insurability requirements for equipment use
  • Proven working experience as a warehouse worker
  • Proven inside sales/counter experience
  • Good phone skills
  • Experience working with Profit 21 or similar CRM
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Dress and perform job duties in a professional manner
  • Follow company procedures and employee manual
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to squat, twist, reach and stand/walk for an entire workday
  • Ability to work in Texas weather i.e., heat, cold, dust, rain
  • Ability to walk in a gravel yard and hard indoor surface to review stock many times each day for the company.
  • Current forklift license.
  • High school degree
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals and training.
  • Able to read tape measure/caliper.
  • Must be proficient in simple math; add, subtract, multiply and divide – weights, length, size, etc.
  • Spanish as a second language a plus.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
