Job description

We are looking to add a Housekeeping Supervisor to our team.

The PM Housekeeping Supervisor at a beach resort is responsible for overseeing the evening operations of the housekeeping department to ensure all guest accommodations and public areas meet the resort’s high standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation. This role plays a key part in delivering an exceptional guest experience by coordinating staff, maintaining quality control, and responding promptly to guest and operational needs during afternoon and evening shifts.

The supervisor manages and supports housekeeping team members, including room attendants, housepersons, and turndown staff, ensuring duties are completed efficiently and in accordance with resort policies and brand standards. They conduct inspections of guest rooms, suites, and public areas, address any deficiencies, and ensure readiness for late arrivals and next-day occupancy.

In addition to operational oversight, the PM Housekeeping Supervisor communicates closely with front desk, maintenance, and other departments to handle special requests, room status updates, and urgent service issues. The role also involves resolving guest concerns in a professional and timely manner, contributing to overall guest satisfaction.

This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential in a resort setting.

The housekeeping supervisor is the lead housekeeper on a team; he or she will be required to oversee all housekeeping duties within a particular facility or on a particular team.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises housekeeping staff as duties are being performed
  • Supervises the duties and tasks of laundry staff
  • Stocks and maintains supply rooms; orders supplies according to a budget
  • Receives, processes, and handles guest complaints in regard to housekeeping services
  • Ensures that rooms are kept clean and free from hazards
  • Ensures that all common areas are kept clean and free from hazards
  • Organizes all staff during the day and hosts daily meetings with housekeeping staff
  • Assists guests with questions and basic requests
  • Provides a high level of customer service at all times; remains professional
  • Trains new housekeepers and support staff
  • Meets with company officials regularly in order to provide progress reports and address issues

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED a plus but not required
  • Previous experience in housekeeping supervision 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Conflict resolution experience
  • Patience and good listening skills
  • Bi-lingual is a plus
