Summary

A growing mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Manager experienced in HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems to join their team in a leadership role. This position focuses on managing commercial projects ranging from $50K to $25M+, with responsibilities that span client development, project oversight, budgeting, and field coordination. Candidates with a background in process piping are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal teams and clients from project award through closeout

  • Lead project execution including estimating, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and field coordination

  • Prepare proposals, contracts, change orders, and documentation to ensure legal compliance and clarity

  • Coordinate project kickoff meetings and ensure alignment across engineering, purchasing, accounting, and field teams

  • Monitor job costs, billing, and forecasting to ensure profitability

Client & Team Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, vendors, consultants, and subcontractors

  • Lead external meetings with clients to finalize sales and project direction

  • Support internal coordination between all departments to ensure timely execution and scope fulfillment

  • Mentor junior project staff and participate in recruiting, coaching, and onboarding efforts

Operational Execution

  • Use internal software and project management tools to track RFIs, job schedules, and material deliveries

  • Ensure compliance with jobsite safety standards and participate in regular construction meetings

  • Evaluate risk, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a proactive approach to cost and time management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience estimating, designing, or managing HVAC and plumbing projects

  • Experience with process piping strongly preferred

Skills:
