Job description

Joseph J. Magnolia ("JJM") is currently seeking an experienced New Construction Plumbing / Mechanical Foreman to join our New Construction team. This role involves supervising and coordinating commercial plumbing and mechanical construction projects while ensuring quality workmanship, safety compliance, and adherence to project schedules and specifications.
A $5,000 signing bonus is available for qualified candidates.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee commercial plumbing and mechanical construction projects ranging from $5 million to $20 million. Supervise labor crews, subcontractors, and project activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate effectively with JJM employees, General Contractors, Owners, Owner Representatives, Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Inspectors, Vendors, and other trades.
  • Plan, organize, and direct installation activities for commercial plumbing, HVAC, hydronic, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure all plumbing and mechanical systems are installed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Oversee rigging, installation, startup, and commissioning of cooling towers, chillers, boilers, rooftop equipment, and related mechanical systems.
  • Manage installation processes for hydronic piping, refrigeration piping, and VRF systems. Review blueprints, specifications, and project schedules to coordinate workflow and manpower requirements.
  • Promote and uphold jobsite safety standards and quality workmanship at all times.
  • Track project progress, maintain documentation, and communicate updates to project leadership.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving installation or coordination issues in the field.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial plumbing and/or HVAC systems within new construction environments.
    Journeyman Plumbing or HVAC License preferred. Journeyman Gas Fitting License preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical codes and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of plumbing systems from underground through above-roof installations.
  • Experience managing large commercial construction projects ranging from $5 million to $20 million.
  • Experience with rigging, installing, startup, and commissioning of cooling towers, chillers, boilers, and large rooftop mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with hydronic and refrigeration piping systems.
  • Experience with VRF systems preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Must be computer literate and comfortable using email and basic software tools.
  • Ability to provide a detailed resume with verifiable industry references and project history/portfolio.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to manage changing jobsite priorities and deadlines.
  • Accountable, ethical, and safety-focused at all times.
