Job description

Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Plumber

Job Description

This role focuses on installing and servicing plumbing systems on commercial projects such as hotels, condominium developments, rehab facilities, and full in-residence and commercial kitchen environments. You will work closely with company leadership in the field, use project management software to manage daily reporting and next-day planning, and may also support residential subdivision projects that require efficient, repetitive installation methods.

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, and service plumbing systems in multi-story steel and concrete commercial buildings.
  • Perform plumbing work in commercial kitchens and full in-residence facilities, ensuring safe and code-compliant installations.
  • Work on commercial projects including hotels, condo developments, and rehab facilities, following project specifications and timelines.
  • Support residential subdivision projects that require repetitive and standardized installation methods when needed.
  • Use project management software to complete accurate daily reports and document project progress.
  • Plan and drive next-day goals and tasks based on project needs and daily reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with company owners in the field to learn and apply established methods, systems, and best practices.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to complete installations correctly.
  • Use hand tools, mechanical tools, and pressing equipment safely and efficiently on job sites.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues and identify effective solutions in a commercial or residential setting.
  • Maintain company standards for productivity in a production-based environment focused on output.
  • Follow all safety requirements on job sites, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective gear.
  • Transport and care for tools, equipment, and company-provided technology such as iPads or work tracking devices.

Essential Skills

  • Active licensed Journeyman Plumber or the ability to obtain a Colorado journeyman plumbing license or reciprocal license within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years of plumbing experience required to obtain and perform at the journeyman level.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial or industrial plumbing environments, including multi-story projects.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency with construction and plumbing installation methods, including rough-in, finish work, and system troubleshooting.
  • Capability to use project management or work tracking software for daily reports and task management.
  • Experience with Procore, BuildOps, or similar construction/project management platforms, or the ability to quickly learn comparable systems.
  • Ability to use Service Pro or an iPad on job sites for documentation and communication.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills with plumbing systems and components.
  • Self-starter with leadership qualities and the ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable access to and use of personal hand tools, including multi-screwdriver, drill, hacksaw, pressing wrenches, and pliers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a production-based environment where performance is evaluated daily.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Colorado plumbing license or reciprocal license with the ability to transfer within 90 days of starting.
  • Commercial or industrial plumbing background preferred for multi-story and complex projects.
  • Residential plumbing background considered for subdivision and repetitive installation work.
  • Open to candidates with union training and experience.
  • Comfort using modern construction technology, including project management software and mobile devices on job sites.
  • Willingness to learn new work methods and systems directly from company owners and experienced team members.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues efficiently.
  • Solid communication skills for coordinating with project teams and reporting progress.
  • Commitment to safety practices and consistent use of required protective equipment, including steel-toed or hard-toed boots.

Why Work Here?

Team members enjoy a stable, production-focused environment with a normal work week rather than an overtime-driven schedule. Full-time employees receive salaried compensation, flex time off, a substantial health insurance stipend, and access to a 401(k) plan with profit sharing. Licensed journeymen and masters benefit from a company vehicle and gas card, and employees traveling outside the normal working area receive per diem and lodging support. The organization invests heavily in top-tier technology, tools, and hands-on mentorship directly from ownership, with performance-based pay raises that can occur multiple times per year. Housing support is available in certain project locations, including three-bedroom condos with full kitchens, internet, and laundry, as well as hotel or extended-stay accommodations where needed. Team members also have the opportunity to participate in a Colorado Mountain College apprenticeship program that offers accredited college credits and state certification, supporting long-term career growth and professional development.

Work Environment

The work environment is production-based and emphasizes output and efficiency rather than overtime, with a normal work week as the standard. Projects are primarily located in Eagle County and Routt County, Colorado, including areas such as Gypsum and Steamboat Springs. Company owners work in the field daily alongside employees, providing direct mentorship and real-time performance feedback. The role involves working on active construction sites in multi-story steel and concrete buildings, commercial kitchens, rehab facilities, and residential subdivisions. Technology such as project management software, Procore or BuildOps, Service Pro, and iPads is used regularly for reporting and task management. Employees must supply and use their own hand tools and wear steel-toed or hard-toed boots. The dress code requires work pants and work shirts, with no shorts or tennis shoes allowed, ensuring a professional and safety-focused appearance on all job sites.
