While most plumbers earn between $40,000 and $80,000 annually, highly experienced or specialized plumbers with advanced skills, certifications, and a strong reputation can potentially earn $250,000 or more per year, especially if they own their own business or work in high-demand areas. While plumbers do perform routine maintenance as a part of their work, they are often needed in emergency situations, such as leaking or burst pipes. What are some common challenges plumbers face when working on residential versus commercial projects?

Residential plumbing typically involves troubleshooting issues in smaller systems, frequently requiring personalized customer service and working in tight spaces. In contrast, commercial projects usually present larger and more complex systems, stricter building codes, and the need to coordinate with other trades on-site.
