As Ursa Major continues to grow, we're looking for an Aerospace Senior Facilities Plumber to support our rapidly expanding manufacturing and test operations. This role ensures reliability, safety and compliance of the plumbing and utility infrastructure.
We're looking for a highly skilled, hands-on subject matter expert who shows up every day with a "challenge accepted" mindset whothrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Extensive experience in commercial and industrial plumbing systems are strongly encouraged to apply - including domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, compressed air, process piping, pumps, valves, and industrial utility systems is highly desirable. Experience in manufacturing or aerospace facilities is preferred but not required.
In this role, you'll maintain and improve critical facility plumbing and mechanical infrastructure, support capital expansion projects, coordinate specialty contractors, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. As part of the Facilities team, you'll also contribute to general facility operations, including preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment moves, grounds maintenance, snow removal, event support, and other operational needs as required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, compressed air, process piping, pumps, valves, and associated equipment
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across multiple worksites on plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and utility systems to maximize facility uptime while also maintaining accurate record keeping
  • Install, modify, and repair copper, PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, stainless steel, threaded, grooved, brazed, and welded piping systems.
  • Diagnose leaks, pressure issues, drainage problems, equipment failures, and piping deficiencies using systematic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Install and maintain backflow preventers, water heaters, expansion tanks, pressure reducing valves, mixing valves, eyewash stations, and emergency showers.
  • Support manufacturing equipment installations by providing utility connections for water, gas, compressed air, and process piping.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on pumps, pressure systems, piping networks, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Oversee plumbing contractors, excavation contractors, fire protection contractors, and other specialty trades.
  • Support emergency response efforts involving water leaks, utility failures, process piping, and facility infrastructure emergencies.
  • Perform day-to-day facilities maintenance across manufacturing, laboratory, office, and outdoor environments, supporting a wide variety of building systems and infrastructure beyond plumbing.
  • Assist other Facilities team members with general maintenance and operations, including repairs, installations, and emergency response efforts as workload and operational priorities require.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial or industrial plumbing, manufacturing, or industrial maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, utility infrastructure, and industrial piping.
  • Experience with natural gas, compressed air, domestic water, sanitary sewer, pumps, valves, and process piping.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience reading plumbing, mechanical, and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with rigging, equipment moving, machinery installation, and the safe operation of lifting equipment is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Colorado Journeyman or Master Plumber License
  • Experience in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, industrial facilities, or semiconductor/pharmaceutical environments
  • Experience with natural gas distribution systems
  • Experience with compressed air systems
  • Experience with process piping
  • Experience with stainless steel tubing and piping
  • Experience with welding, fabrication, threading, brazing, or orbital welding
  • Backflow Prevention Certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • Experience operating forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts
  • Experience using CMMS/work order management systems
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital work order management platforms

Additional Information:
  • This is an hourly position reporting to the Facilities Manager.
  • Work environment includes office spaces, manufacturing areas, test facilities, and outdoor operations at multiple worksites.
  • This position requires full-time, on-site presence; remote work is not an option.

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $35.15 - $44.40, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. What we can't quantify for you are the exciting challenges, supportive team, and amazing culture we enjoy.
