STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for Fab Mechanic - Assembly (Trainee), to join the team. This position involves the fabrication of metal tubing both rigid and flexible, for a multitude of operations, by cutting, grinding, forming, de-burring, cleaning, swaging, and polishing according to specifications, for use in hydraulic fuel, pneumatic, waste and exhaust installations.
  • 1st Shift: 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:15 PM - 1:45 AM with $1.00 Shift Differential

Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials, assemblies, tube details, components and finished products.
  • Plans, lay out, fabricate, assembles, install, salvage parts from assemblies and repair rigid and/or flexible tube assemblies, fixtures, equipment, and products by performing the following duties.
  • Perform various functions by hand and utilizes hand tools to prepare hose for assembly including removing rubber to buff back ends for fittings, connect fittings to hose, apply RTV, and other assembly preparations.
  • Sets up and operates abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment such as swager or crimper.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, method sheets, process sheets, policies and procedures to manufacture a variety of rigid and flexible metal tubes.
  • Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time•
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Qualifications
Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
