Job Description

The Field Service Engineer in a few words

Responsible for local field service of the project, including but not limited to the software, hardware or system debugging of automated equipment.

Work Arrangement Timeline

First 6 Months 100% On-Site (Client Location)
Thereafter Hybrid (Remote + On-Site as Required)

Roles and Responsibilities 

The local Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the following activities, but not limited 

  • Equipment Installation and Bring-up 

  • Validation of equipment 

  • Training of the end-user personnel 

  • Maintenance of equipment 

  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis 

  • Equipment Repair 

  • Equipment Software upgrade 

  • Continuous improvement and optimization collaboration with equipment design engineers 

  • Documentation updates and reporting.

Qualifications

Qualification and required work experience 

  • Experience in PLC and Computer controlled production equipment with complex processes. 

  • Advanced knowledge on calibration procedures for precision assembly machines with vision guided motion. 

  • Advanced knowledge about machine vision systems. Understand how to debug, calibrate, and configure them. 

  • Advanced knowledge on motion systems and how to tune motors and check motion repeatability and stability. 

  • Advanced knowledge on using and referencing 6 axis robots. 

  • Knowledge on using and configuring LabVIEW applications. 

  • Knowledge on using and configuring Beckhoff PLC IO and Motion applications. 

  • Fluent in English in speaking and writing. 

  • Experience with manufacturing environment. 

Competencies & Skills 

  • Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in Electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics or related fields. 

  • More than 5 years of experience in PLC development in the non-standard automation field. 

  • Knowledge on using and configuring LabVIEW applications. 

  • Logical thinking, able to adapt to fast-paced work and business trips for projects. 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. 

  • Be able to directly work with international colleagues and customers.
