Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to support and maintain automated manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and improving automated systems including robots, PLCs, and vision systems to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair automation equipment including robots, PLCs, sensors, and vision systems
  • Support production by quickly responding to equipment issues and restoring functionality
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automated systems
  • Assist with programming, debugging, and modifying PLC and robot programs
  • Support new equipment launches, installations, and automation improvements
  • Work with engineering and maintenance teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting industrial automation equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with PLC systems (Allen Bradley, or similar)
  • Experience with industrial robots (Fanuc, ABB, Whittman, or similar) preferred
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Experience with sensors, servo systems, and HMIs preferred
  • Vision inspection systems
