What is a Developer, SDET – ERP Systems?

The Developer / Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – ERP Systems plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of IP Corporation's enterprise business applications. This position combines software engineering, test automation, and ERP domain expertise to build robust testing frameworks, automate quality assurance processes, and support the development of high-performing ERP solutions.

Working closely with IT, business stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams, this individual will design and implement automated testing strategies, enhance CI/CD pipelines, validate complex ERP workflows and integrations, and drive continuous improvement across our enterprise technology landscape. What You'll Do as a Developer, SDET – ERP Systems:

Software Development & Test Automation

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for enterprise ERP applications.
  • Develop reusable automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Partner with development teams to ensure software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to software development efforts by building tools and utilities that improve testing efficiency and application quality.
  • Continuously improve automation coverage, testing efficiency, and release confidence.

ERP Systems & Business Process Validation

  • Validate complex ERP configurations, business workflows, and system functionality across enterprise applications.
  • Test integrations between ERP systems and connected platforms including CRM, MDM, data warehouses, and third-party applications.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation across multiple enterprise systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Support testing efforts for new ERP enhancements, upgrades, patches, and implementations.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure enterprise applications meet operational and business requirements.

CI/CD & Quality Engineering

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Integrate automated testing into deployment workflows using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, deployment reliability, and software quality.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous delivery initiatives across enterprise applications.
  • Promote quality engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with software developers, ERP administrators, business analysts, and business stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues by identifying root causes and validating solutions.
  • Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and recommendations to technical and business teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance development processes and system reliability.


What We're Looking For in a Developer, SDET – ERP Systems:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in software development and software testing.
  • One (1) or more years of experience supporting ERP systems (Infor ERP experience preferred).
  • Experience developing in one or more programming languages including Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Selenium, Playwright, or comparable UI automation frameworks.
  • Experience using API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
  • Strong SQL skills for database validation and testing.
  • Experience validating ERP workflows, integrations, and enterprise business processes.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting Infor ERP or other enterprise ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Experience with Order-to-Cash (O2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Finance, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain business processes.
  • Experience testing CRM integrations, including Salesforce or Revenue Cloud.
  • Experience with test data management and environment management.
  • Experience using performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience working within manufacturing or industrial environments.
