Work Schedule: Flexibility Needed
Travel Requirements: 0-5% 

The JBS Pork team is seeking a QA SSOP TECHNICIAN.  
Skills and Qualifications: 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
  • Experience in a processed food-manufacturing environment. Meat experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food microbiology and / or chemistry preferred
  • Ability to communicate food safety policies and procedures
  • HACCP knowledge required
  • BRC knowledge required
  • USDA communication and knowledge required
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Organization and detail-oriented
  • Must have good computer skills (minimum working with Excel, PowerPoint and Word documents)
  • Must be a team player and leader
  • Flexibility to work difference schedules. Primary schedule will be a swing shift but there may be times where you are asked to work A, B or C shift.
 Responsibilities:
  • Abide by and ensure that JBS employees, management, vendors and/or outside contractors abide by the current Operational Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures as well as current SOP’s.
  • This includes filling out Operational SSOP paperwork either in accordance with the current Operational SSOP plan.
  • This includes filling out FSCAR’s and/or ensuring FSCAR’s are filled out by the department supervisor and/or manager in which the deficiency was observed. 
  • Ensure that the corrective and preventive actions as described in the FSCAR(s) addressing the SSOP and/or SOP deficiencies.
  • Submit Work Orders to Maintenance as well as enter the work orders onto the QA Work Order Tracking Log (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint) .
  • Conduct weekly meetings with maintenance regarding Food Safety and USDA work orders.
  • Communicate with maintenance personnel priority work orders and ensure the completion of such work orders.
  • Communicate with maintenance regarding the work orders that are designated as complete in the work order computer system (SAP) but are not done acceptably as described by the work order description.
  • Assist in BRC, Customer, Supplier and compliance audits.
  • Work with the QA Cut and Kill Floor Management on topics of food safety focus / importance, suggestions for topics of discussion at such meetings / table talks.
  • Work with production, QA, and Maintenance to solve food safety related issues and address issues.
  • Work on Temp Logger Program / Schedule validating our Product Shelf Life.
  • Work on data collection and implementation of process improvement.
  • Maintain and / or update housekeeping program (internal / external audits), glass and brittle plastic, foreign object prevention plans, etc. Keep assignment and responsibility list current and tracked. 
  • Tour plant to be sure all areas are being addressed as programmed.
  • Perform New Hire Food Safety Orientation with Training Department.

  • The schedule for this position is typically Mon - Fri. Weekend work required as scheduled. During Fall Season, Saturdays are typically scheduled. 
  • Possible exposure to slippery floors, extreme temperature variations, loud noise, chemicals, sharp objectives (knives), machinery, and vehicles.
