Job Schedule: Training will occur on dayshift then move to the schedule shown below. About the role of an Annealing Furnace Operator: The Annealing Furnace Operator is responsible for operation of the Annealing Furnace, which is used to increase ductility and reduce the hardness of raw coiled steel. This key role must ensure safe operation of the equipment and temperature instruments. Operators are to ensure the steel reaches it's required temperature and cooled afterwards at the correct rate for the appropriate length of time. The Operator works with a small team and must be self-motivated and dependable. Responsibilities of an Annealing Furnace Operator:1 Complete coil ID verification2 Ensure tag information accuracyMake sure spiders and thermocouples are positioned correctlyConfirm pressure check is acceptableVerify routing is initiated and completedTaking SamplesLoading furnace, removing covers, unloading spiders and load cycleAdditional skills and/or experience required for success in the role of an Annealing Furnace Operator:Excellent work ethics: dependable, reliable, follows established proceduresAble to learn how to use technical equipment such as a hydrogrometer, an analyzer (CO, CO2, and Oxygen), hand tools, pressure switches, flow switches and proximity switchesPrevious Annealing Furnace Operator ExperienceMechanically inclinedPossesses basic computer skillsAble to work in a team environment; gets along with othersAble to read work and understand work instructions, blueprints, technical documents and customer requirementsAble to do math calculations and work with numbers, fractions, and decimalsAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in writingAble to record information and calculate data as neededAble and willing to wear the required protective clothing and PPE mandated by OSHA and MNPAble to commit to perfect attendance during the training scheduleAble to work in hot, oily, and noisy conditionsAble to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and sit as needed throughout the 12 hour day This job description is not intended to be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the company.
