Job description


Position Summary

 

The production plater operates production equipment within Sumco to efficiently produce material to customer specifications. Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions and follow basic check sheets.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Load material on pay-off equipment.
  • Attach material leader to previous coil.
  • Guide material to take-up coil.
  • Attach material to take-up coil.
  • Check and replace anodes as needed.
  • Change contacts as needed.
  • Maintain chemical levels on production lines.
  • Clean chemical plating tanks.
  • Remove material from take-up machine.
  • Ability to operate all coil winding and handling equipment
  • Prepare coils for shipment.
  • Maintain material traceability through the plating process
  • Ability to utilize computer programs to access process reference documents, complete necessary SPC process data entry and charting
  • Maintain cleanliness of area.
  • Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance.


Experience:


  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably as an Electroplater or similar role.
  • Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory, training may be provided.






Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand 8-12 hours per day
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Frequent hand coordination
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Capable of communicating with speech and hearing
  • Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and bending
  • Capable of lifting/moving up to 55 pounds and manipulating up to 500 pounds (35 gal. barrels) on a regular basis
  • Able to work safely with machinery and a variety of hazardous chemicals
